The Association of Indonesian Golf Course Owners (APLGI), cares about the development of golf in the country. Of course, to develop the sport, an adequate field is needed to hold a tournament or championship.
Currently, APLGI is actively encouraging its members consisting of 62 fields to be certified immediately. So far there have been 5 golf courses that have passed the certification. They are Cengkareng Golf Club (Banten), Royal Sumatra Golf (North Sumatra), Permata Sentul Golf (West Java), Lotus Lakes Golf Club (West Java) and Golf Graha Famili (East Java).
The number of golf courses in Indonesia also raises several benefits. In addition to being a tourist attraction, the golf course also creates jobs for local residents. Not only tens, even hundreds of employees can be employed in one golf course.
It is clear, therefore, that golf courses can be pioneers of development in underdeveloped areas. This means that the existence of golf courses in Indonesia has helped the government in terms of reducing the number of unemployed.
“We hope that the government and the general public can understand that the existence of a golf course is very positive for the surrounding environment. Besides being able to create job opportunities, it also adds significant green open space,” said Feliks Hariyanto, Secretary General (Secretary General) of APLGI in Jakarta, Monday (19/6/2017).
“With so much development, we need a lot of catchment areas. Each golf course has an area of tens of hectares. All maintenance is borne by the entrepreneur. The positive benefits can be felt by the wider community,” continued Feliks
